16th Avenue Tiled Steps (Artwork)

The 16th Avenue Tiled Steps in San Francisco is a beautiful mosaic staircase in the Inner Sunset neighborhood. Completed in 2005, the 163 steps feature colorful tiles with sea and sky themes, created by artists Aileen Barr and Colette Crutcher. Over 300 local volunteers helped bring this community project to life. The steps are now a cherished landmark, offering stunning views of the city and the Pacific Ocean. Tourists are welcome to come and watch and take pictures as long as there are no disturbances in the neighborhood as it is located in a quiet neighborhood. This artwork is also acknowledged by the Mayor of San Francisco and even has a day on August 27th for these stairs. With thousands of donations, these stairs are highly loved by the community and bring them together. Hours are as listed, Sat and Sun: 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Mon to Fri : 9:30 AM to 5:30PM.

Marco Polo (Italian Ice Cream)

Recently reopened, the ice cream store "Marco polo" is one of the most unique ones in San Francisco's outer sunset area. The family-owned store offers gelato and sorbet with fresh ingredients, featuring Asian-inspired flavors like lychee, black sesame, and one of my favorites durian, along with classic Italian options. Its delicious flavors made it a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike. Though it can be a little pricey, we and locals alike believe that it is still worth trying and being a regular customer for because of their best selections of flavoring and techniques to give you the best quality ice cream. Their customer service is quick and easy and they accept cash, credit cards, and apple pay. They are open everyday from 11AM-10PM.
